With its 150-year old camera, it makes tourists experience nostalgia in Mardin.

Yücel Erdaş, originally from Ordu and living in Mardin for about 10 years, came to the city for archaeological excavations. Deciding to do a different job one day, Erdaş turned the historical place he kept as a home into a studio based on the photography department he had studied in the past. Erdaş, who created the alarm camera known as the instant camera, which was invented in the 1880s, started shooting by creating the ‘Mardin Memorial’ decor. The photographs taken by Erdaş in his studio with the alarm camera bearing the traces of the past have become the center of attention of tourists.
