The Galeriç Forest in the Kızılırmak Delta, which covers an area of 56 thousand hectares and contains 359 bird species, is among the rare flooded forests of Turkey.
In the forest, which is rich in biodiversity, 35 songbird species incubate. The most striking area of the region in terms of natural life is the deciduous forests, which are completely covered with water in the spring.
While these forests are falling apart, the Galeriç Forest, which is located in the north of Yörükler town, maintains its integrity. The Kızılırmak Delta is of great importance in terms of the bird presence it hosts.
