Pınarbaşı Village, in the Bayramiç district of Çanakkale, draws attention with its richness of underground water resources. At a time when the danger of drought occupied the agenda of the country for a long time, the village on the foothills of Kazdağları, known as ‘Thousand Pınarlı Mountains’, draws attention with its abundance of water.
Pınarbaşı Village of Bayramiç district, which is located on the skirts of Kazdağları known as ‘Bin Pınarlı Dağ’, and its surrounding underground water resources are surprising.
With the arrival of the winter season, the spring waters that come out of the foundations of the houses, gardens, streets and even the football field in the village form ponds.
The village with a population of 400, covered by underground springs, resembles Venice with its appearance. People living in Pınarbaşı state that this natural phenomenon repeats every January when the water is abundant.
The headman of the village Hayrullah Özkan stated that the spring waters under the village rise to the surface every year when the winter comes and the water is abundant, “Part of the village remains under water. We like this situation. Beautiful landscapes are formed. We are willing to do so. As long as we have plenty of water. Everywhere there is drought, there is plenty of water in our village right now. This adds beauty to our village, “he said.
83-year-old Ayşe Tenar, who lives alone in the village of Pınarbaşı, also has an underground water source under her house. Tenar, whose house and garden are constantly filled with water during the winter months, said, “The house was flooded again after the last rains. It is boiling from the bottom of the walls, the interior of the house is filled with water. Water flows constantly day and night. ” said.
