“As a result of the tender in the project made 3 years ago, our facility was finished and put into use in 2 years as a result of the tender. The facility’s 200 thousand cubic meters of water per day has the capacity to purify our current water. If there is a great need in the future, it can reach an additional based point that can increase the capacity to 300 thousand cubic meters. A facility that can meet the needs of Van for the next year. This facility was tendered and built by our metropolitan municipality with the long-term loan provided by Iller Bank. The opening of our facility, which was visited by the wife of our President, Lady Emine Erdoğan, was held on June 5, World Environment Day. The President will hold it by teleconference. I hope Lake Van will not be polluted from now on.”
Explaining that there is serious bottom mud on the shores of Lake Van, Governor Bilmez said: “There is a situation where people cannot walk because of the smell between the town of Tusba and YYU. Bilmez said, “We will start cleaning it with a contribution of 10 million from the municipality. Symbolically, this was started at the arrival of your esteemed minister, but our next job was to clean the bottom mud in the lake. This was not enough either. There were around 300 barns by the beach in our city center. We removed all of them. Our goal is to bring Van Lake and the people of Van together,” he said.
“Edremit, İpekyolu, Tusba and our metropolitan municipality have great works in this direction,” said Bilir, “We have road works on the beach from Edremit district to the university. They gave their instructions for protection,” he said.
Finally, Bilmez said, “This was a good development for us. Our facility cost 180 million. After cleaning the bottom of the lake, our facility will now contribute to the cleaning of Lake Van.”
