Yaşar Topçu, who retired from the Kadıköy Population Directorate in 2002, decided to buy a caravan with his wife Turgut Topçu 14 years ago.
The artillery couple has toured Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands with the caravan they bought.
The current goal of the couple, who went on the 76th in Turkey and finally came to Kastamonu, is to go first to Norway and then to China by caravan.
Yaşar Topçu said that after buying their caravan in 2007, they made 9 tours in Turkey. Stating that Ağrı, Van, Hakkari and Tunceli, which they do not see as provinces in Turkey, remained, Topçu said, “We have seen the vicinity of these provinces, but we do not consider it as seeing after living there. That’s why we haven’t lived there yet. If we are lucky, we will live there in autumn this year.”
Stating that they traveled all over Europe except for these 4 provinces in Turkey, Topçu said, “Before the pandemic broke out, our program was Norway. The goal of every caravan driver is to go to the North Cape and put their feet in the Arctic Ocean. Our program is ready. Norway. After that, maybe we can go to China via Tibet,” he said.
Expressing that they love to travel with a caravan, Topçu said, “The colors that relax people psychologically are blue and green. We are always in these colors. Everyone thinks, ‘They live in a place of 10-15 square meters.’ No, we only sleep in a place of 15 square meters. “Our life is always spent outside the trailer. We are in the trailer for at least 8 months of the year, we travel,” he said.
Turgut Topçu, on the other hand, stated that he liked Kastamonu very much and said, “I would like the caravan drivers to travel 50 kilometers a day so that they do not get tired. If they travel in a planned way, there will be no problems in terms of accommodation and they will not get tired. Let our young people love nature and protect it. If we do not, we will be the losers again. ‘ he said.
