Expressing that crowning the museum with an international award made a significant contribution to the city’s becoming a cultural destination, Yavuz said:
“One of the most important factors in winning this award is the support of the people of Bayburt, my village and the Bayburt bureaucracy, especially our Governor Cüneyt Epcim, and the extraordinary interest we received from the press. Bayburt is one of Turkey’s ancient lands, the homeland of Dede Korkut, Şair Zihni, Ağlar Baba.
