Gökpınar Lake, located in the Gürün district of Sivas, resembles a natural aquarium with its beautiful underwater flora and fauna. The turquoise colored lake, which is fed by sources from the bottom and reaches a depth of 15 meters, attracts the attention of local and foreign tourists in all seasons of the year.

Gökpınar Lake, 147 kilometers from Sivas city center and 10 kilometers from Gürün district center, is fed by sources from the bottom and its depth reaches 15 meters.
The lake, which attracts local and foreign tourists with its clear water and turquoise blue appearance, is preferred by those who are engaged in underwater sports, and altitude dives have been carried out frequently in recent years.
The restaurant, hotel, mosque, basketball, volleyball and grass football field and picnic areas around the lake offer accommodation and social activities to local and foreign tourists. Sivas Governorship has started work to build bungalow houses and walkways around the lake.
Gökpınar Lake was registered as a “Natural Site Qualified Natural Protection Area” by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, General Directorate of Protection of Natural Heritage. The process continues for the registration of the lake as “Natural Site – Sensitive Area to be Protected”.
Nebahat Dereli, one of the visitors, said that he came from Eskişehir to see the lake. Stressing that Gökpınar Lake is a natural wonder, Dereli said, “This is a truly natural aquarium.”
Expressing that he saw Gökpınar Lake for the first time, Dereli said, “This place is very beautiful. There is peace, a refreshment comes to the person. Everyone should definitely see this place. It is truly a wonder of nature.” he spoke.
İzmir Güzelbahçe District Director of National Education Murat Çevik stated that he is from Gürün and that he always comes to Gökpınar Lake every time he visits his hometown. Agile voicing Gökpınar magnificient Lake, “one of the rare places to visit in Turkey. Both color, natural beauty and charming. We stop every time we Gürün” he said.
