The historical Ottoman fortress that ensures the safety of pilgrims in Jordan: Fudayn

Providing information on the subject, Mafrak Historical Works Director Imad Ubeydat said that the castle is located in an area where historical artifacts from different periods are located.

Ubeydat stated that according to the researches, the castle preserved its first form with two floors and 9 rooms until the 1930s.

Noting that the Mafrak Directorate of Historical Works carried out a series of projects aimed at improving the archaeological sites, including the Fudayn site in 2013, Ubeydat said that especially the exterior and stone pavements of the Ottoman castle were restored and the necessary maintenance was carried out.

Jordan was under the rule of the Ottoman Empire between 1516-1918.
