Volunteer environmentalist divers of 8 people dived into caves at the exit points of the water located under the Taurus Mountains where Kırkgöz Springs are located. Professor Doctor Mehmet Gökoğlu from Akdeniz University Faculty of Fisheries, who leads the diving team, said, “We want to raise awareness about the protection of our water resources. In Antalya, a group of environmentalists dived into underwater caves under the Taurus Mountains in the Kırkgöz Resources Karain Caves region, under the presidency of Professor Doctor Mehmet Gökoğlu from Akdeniz University Faculty of Fisheries, in order to draw attention to the importance of water and to emphasize the importance of preserving its resources.
The 8-person diver team stated that the name of their activity was ‘Getting in the eye of the water’, and that findings from the existence of humanity were encountered in underwater caves.
The divers team of 8 people dived to a depth of 12 meters in the cave, which reached a depth of 90 meters for 30 minutes, and enjoyed its underwater beauty.
Professor Doctor Mehmet Gökoğlu from Akdeniz University Faculty of Fisheries, who leads the diving team, said, “As the Akdeniz University Underwater Community, we will enter the underwater caves in Kırkgöz Springs, and we will enter where the water comes from. The name of our event is to get in the eye of the water. Water comes out of the holes under the mountain. “We will try to go to the first source where the water comes from by entering the points where the water comes out.”
Stating that they want to raise awareness about protecting water resources, Gökoğlu said, “Our aim is to draw attention to the importance of water.
